Introduction

The Military National Security Service (MNSS) of Hungary is a governmental organization. According to the present budgetary jurisdiction, the MNSS is an independently functioning budgetary establishment. The Government controls the MNSS through the Minister of Defence.

 

Designation

According to the Act CXXV of 1995 on National Security Services, the MNSS – with the accomplishment of intelligence, counter-intelligence, defence and control activities, using open and secret information collection methods – promotes the enforcement of the national security interests of Hungary, thereby contributing to the protection of the country’s sovereignty and legal order.
